Established & first published in March 2000 , Surf Sports magazine was launched at the Australian titles Kurrawa.

After the demise of Australian Surf Lifesaver Magazine there was a need to produce a periodical which would help promote surf sports events within the SLSA community & the best way to do that was production of a full colour glossy magazine with information, stories, & images to promote the importance of surf life saving as an icon of Aussie culture.

Surf Sports Magazine is wholly owned & published by Harvie Allison Photography, it is the officially endorsed publication of Surf Life Saving Australia & of course is printed in Australia .

As sales, distribution, & subscriptions to Surf Sports Magazine steadily grew SLSA agreed to incorporate the Australian Titles program into the March 2003 issue. An instant success, not only did the Aussies program now have all the necessary information for competitors, but many favourable comments were received stating that it's a great read on the beach as well! The magazine is packed with information, articles, & coaching tips which benefit many smaller clubs & individual athletes.

2007 sees Surf Sports magazine as popular as ever. With the exciting news that the official program for the “Ocean Thunder” professional surf boat series will be included in the November issue I am sure the magazine will be more popular than ever. Surf Sports magazine is also enjoyed by many overseas readers who are always enthusiastic to read about the World's premier surf life saving nation & its amazing athletes.

Three issues per year are produced, November that is a lead in to the season, March including the Aussies program, & June containing a summary of the major events from the season.
